EFFECT OF COMMUNICATION EFFICIENCY ON WORKERS PERFORMANCE IN AN ORGANISATION
ABSTARCT: The present investigation was conducted to examine the impact of communication efficacy on the performance of employees within an organisational setting, with ANAMMCO serving as the focal point of analysis. In order to attain this outcome, a set of four pivotal research objectives were meticulously formulated. The survey design was implemented and the utilisation of simple random sampling techniques was employed in this study. The population size encompasses the personnel of ANAMMCO, situated in the state of Enugu. In the process of ascertaining the appropriate sample size, the researcher judiciously opted for a total of 114 respondents, out of which 110 were successfully obtained and subsequently subjected to rigorous validation, resulting in a final count of 100 respondents. A self-constructed and duly validated questionnaire was employed as the instrument for the purpose of data acquisition. The questionnaires that were gathered and verified underwent analysis through the utilisation of frequency tables and percentages. The findings elucidate that the degree of efficiency in organisational communication is notably suboptimal, and it is worth noting that the efficacy of communication directly influences the level of commitment exhibited by workers. The findings further elucidate that the magnitude of the impact of communication efficiency on workers' overall performance is substantial. With respect to the aforementioned findings, the study posits that in order to optimise the efficacy and proficiency of employee performance, it is imperative for management to adopt certain measures. These measures include the cultivation of enhanced lucidity in the formulation and dissemination of ideas, a deeper comprehension of the physical and human milieu during the communication process, and a comprehensive analysis of the underlying objectives of communication. Furthermore, it is recommended that managers engage in regular and meaningful communication with their subordinates, thereby facilitating the acquisition of feedback and the provision of constructive suggestions. By doing so, the potential for ambiguity regarding future job assignments can be mitigated, ultimately leading to a marked improvement in both the performance of workers and the overall productivity of the organisation.
